I'm French, and mother of 2 little girls aged 2 and 4.
At the beginning of November 2024, I discovered Pedro’s story through a little book "I've never been happier" and then on the Opus Dei website, through a documentary that touched my husband and me enormously. We started praying to Pedro at night, asking for more holiness in our family.
A few days later, I learned that the baby I was carrying had died in utero at five and a half months of pregnancy. His heart had stopped beating.
The news broke my husband's and my hearts, especially as this was my second miscarriage and I already had a child in Heaven.
In view of the baby's development, I was hospitalized for a vaginal delivery. The delivery lasted a whole day, during which I kept invoking Pedro for courage and so that my baby could come out during the day. Otherwise, I would have had to stay in hospital for another 24 hours.
At 6pm, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, whom we decided to include Pedro in his name, in his honour. We gave him a Christian burial a few days later.
Throughout this ordeal, I was accompanied and supported by the example of Pedro, who was so cheerful and kind in hospital. Like him, I was filled with many graces because of my family, my marriage and our faith. Offering my baby to God, his life so short, this absence so heavy now, was the most precious thing I had.
I'm certain that I was able to give my child to the Lord in my heart, thanks to Pedro's help, and I am grateful for that. From now on, I'm going to pray to him to intercede vigorously with the Lord to send us a healthy baby soon. He won't replace Gabriel, but he will be a joy and a consolation for us, his parents.
I wish you a wonderful Advent, full of peace and joy.
