I am at university thanks to three different scholarships and, in general, any financial issue is important to me because I don't have much room for manoeuvre. Two weeks ago I was due to receive a mini-grant to go to UNIV [a university conference in Rome at Easter]. I paid for half of it by working and the other half was going to be with that grant. Unexpectedly, they told me that they were not going to give it to me. This dashed my hopes of going to UNIV, because I had no more means to pay for it.
On Tuesday, 14 March, I told this to my spiritual director and he recommended that I entrust it to Pedro, who, being a university student, would have a special sensitivity to student financial issues. The next day, 15 Wednesday, I took a prayer card to the oratory when I went to pray in the afternoon and I asked Pedro for this grant and another (less urgent) scholarship. The next day, Thursday the 16th, I woke up to an e-mail from the scholarship granters telling me that one of the beneficiaries had turned down the scholarship because she could not go on the trip, and they asked me if I wanted it. This solved my financial problem with UNIV.
I consider it a great favour and I have entrusted Pedro with other important financial matters.
