My little daughter, aged 10 months, had a coughing fit like she had never had before
My name is MC, I am a paediatrician and a mother. I am a Catholic. I am not a member of Opus Dei although I know a little about it and I have many friends in Opus Dei.
A few weeks ago, while I was on duty, I had a patient with a possible tumour in her leg and a nurse told me that she had met two people who had had bone cancer: one lived and the other died.  She also told me that the boy who died was very special, She had lived with him and his siblings for a few months in England and she had been very touched by living with him. She told me that he was a really special person but that she could not explain why. She also told me that they were even studying the possibility of opening a process of canonization for him. That was the end of the conversation.
When I got home after the shift, a friend of mine dropped me a line to tell me that one of her sons had had another episode of coughing at night and that she almost had to go to the hospital to see me (as on other occasions). But this time it had occurred to her to pray to Pedro Ballester and ask for his intercession... her son stopped coughing and slept all night. I asked her who Pedro Ballester was and after she told me the story, I couldn't believe that it was the same boy whom the nurse had told me a few hours before. What a coincidence ....!!!
Curious, I watched a video on Youtube about Pedro's life and I was very moved by his joy, his clear dedication to God and his commitment to bring the faith to all those who came across him.
Tonight my little daughter, aged 10 months, had a coughing fit like she had never had before. I gave her several medicines, including a hospital treatment, and she was getting worse and worse.... I remembered Pedro and decided to pray to him. I asked him several times, but she was still the same. Until I thought: "Come on, do the prayer properly". I looked up the prayer to ask for his intercession and from that very minute my daughter, who was coughing every second, stopped coughing completely. After 20 minutes she coughed 2 or 3 more times more and then continued to sleep till this morning. It was really very striking, from the moment I started the prayer, at that very moment....!!!
Thank you, Pedro, for your intercession; thank God my cause was not of significant importance, but what a consolation to see that we have Heaven so close to us, so that we just have to do everything in our hands and ask....
I will continue to pray to Pedro and with Pedro, so that he may continue from above to help people, as you can see what he liked, a young man with a true mission.
