No Christmas gift for my professional colleagues?
Good evening. I am going to try to write up a little favour that I attribute to Pedro, because I promised him that if he would do it for me, I would send it to you.
Today is Thursday 22 December. On Monday I bought some good chocolates (50 euros worth) for people I meet in Madrid on Thursdays for work-related purposes (I live in Valencia) to greet them for Christmas and thank them for their work.
The train from Valencia was due to leave today at 2.30pm. At 1 p.m. the chocolates had not arrived. I had to leave home at 2pm at the latest. If they didn't arrive, they would be useless because I am not going to Madrid for another 2 weeks. And so I would have no gift to offer them and I would also lose 50 euros.
At 1 p.m. it occurred to me to pray to Pedro using his prayercard to ask for his help. Lately he has been helping me with day-to-day things, as I been very busy with work. And I told him that I was leaving it in his hands and that I knew that the chocolates would arrive.
At 1.50 p.m. they still hadn't arrived but I kept telling him not to leave me stranded because I knew he could do it. At 2pm I had to leave and still no one had knocked on the door. I told Pedro that I was leaving and that I knew they would arrive. I was looking over the balcony and I couldn't see any van. When I opened the door to go to the train thinking that I was leaving without the chocolates, to my surprise a messenger was in the doorway with the chocolates. In the end I arrived in Madrid with them!
I attribute it completely to Pedro because I see it as impossible that it was pure coincidence.
