During the retreat I did last Christmas, we listened to the audiobook that describes Pedro's life. I was impressed by his life and, among other things, it has fostered my wishes to take my vocation more seriously.
At the same time, my mother had been starting to have some problems with her eyesight. As far as I understood, it was an irreversible problem that, as time went by, would get worse and worse with time. Before I went on the retreat, she had started some treatment.
I started praying to Pedro so that my mother would get cured. Actually, I asked her if she wanted to pray to him, but she kind of ignored this suggestion (you know, I guess she thought "My son has just come from a retreat and now he has returned with this in his mind...!").
Last week (two months later), my mother visited the doctor. Apparently, the treatment went EXTREMELY well. According to the doctor, very few people improve as much as my mother did with the very medicine that she had been prescribed. Part of her problem has disappeared almost completely. There seems to remain a small incurable injury in her eye, but it does not seem serious anymore.
The very day of the visit to the doctor, she admitted that she had not prayed to Pedro, but that she was now going to give thanks to him.
